FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: NEW YORK CITY (August 1, 2012) – LANI FORD WINS SONGWRITING CONTEST AND APPEARS ON SISSY GAMACHE SHOW

Lani Ford of Kicking and Screaming Music will appear on The Sissy Gamache Show on Manhattan Channel 56 in New York City.
Lani Ford has been writing fiercely since the break-up of her rock trio STARK in 2011. In the process she started the new Gypsy Americana group Tania & The Revolutionaries, including Ford on vocals, guitar and sometimes mandolin, Laura Sativa on flute and percussion and Tony Mann on percussion and drums.

The band will join Ford on the Sissy Gamache show on Channel 56 on Manhattan Cable in NYC Friday August 17th at 7:30pm. On the half hour show, Sissy will interview Ford and talk about her 11 year career on New York’s 95-5 WPLJ-FM as well as have the band play a few songs.

The band has traveled to Nashville and Nicaragua in the past year to play gigs like the Independent Songwriter’s Festival and the Pitaya Fest. Ford has also traveled to the UK and L.A. to play gigs and meet other songwriters. She is currently working on recordings with The Revolutionaries and as a solo artist with Freddie Katz in NYC and Steve Goodie at Pitch Perfect and Nashville Demo Studios in Nashville. On the anniversary of the death of Amy Winehouse, July 23rd, Ford discovered she had won the Fallen Legends Tribute Songwriting Contest for a chance to study with My Voice Studio owner Renee-Grant Williams in Nashville. Ford won the contest with her song “Hey Amy”, a tribute to Amy Winehouse.

In the meantime, Lani Ford and Kicking and Screaming Music is re-vamping the business and website for more presence in the songwriting/performing/radio/tv/acting world.
